Micro-Award Program

Strengthening Foundational Care

Prairie Horse Collective’s Micro-Award Program provides small, targeted financial support to reinforce essential horse care during periods of strain.

These awards are designed to support rescue-based environments where foundational care impacts multiple horses and overall stability. When basic care remains consistent, horses remain steadier.

What Micro-Awards Support

PHC Micro-Awards focus specifically on:

• Hay & Feed

• Veterinary Care

• Farrier Support

These categories are intentionally limited to ensure clarity, fairness, and meaningful impact.

Award Amount

Micro-Awards range from $250–$500 per award.

Awards may cover full or partial invoices depending on demonstrated need and available funds.

Funding is not guaranteed and is subject to available funds within each designated funding round.

Who May Apply

Applications are open to registered and unregistered equine rescue organizations and rescue-operated boarding facilities that are actively operating in a rescue capacity.

Applicants must provide:

• A clear description of the specific need

• Supporting documentation (invoice or written estimate)

• Basic information about their rescue operations

To ensure equitable distribution, an organization may receive one PHC Micro-Award within a six-month period.

PHC reserves the right to request additional information to verify rescue operations.

How Applications Are Reviewed

Applications are reviewed by the PHC founder and may include advisory input to support fairness and alignment with PHC’s mission.

Funding decisions are guided by:

• Direct welfare impact

• Clarity and documentation

• Feasibility within available funds

• Alignment with PHC’s defined scope

All decisions are documented internally.

Funding Rounds

Micro-Awards are distributed during designated funding rounds throughout the year.

Application windows and deadlines will be posted on this page and through PHC’s social channels. Applications may close early if available funds are fully allocated.

PHC may pause applications between rounds to maintain sustainability.

Why Micro-Awards Matter

Welfare challenges often begin quietly.

A delayed trim.
Feed stretched thinner than expected.
A veterinary concern postponed just a little too long.
Small, timely support can make a meaningful difference.

Prairie Horse Collective exists to strengthen those foundations — thoughtfully, clearly, and responsibly.
